The 2022 Foothill College Case Competition 2022 with Owl

Friday, Dec. 2 at 1-4 p.m., The Dining Hall & Hearthside Lounge (2313)

Join us to watch and support the six finalist teams present their work live in competition from 1-3 p.m. in The Dining Hall. Then meet the finalists and Google Health from 3-4 p.m. for a reception in The Hearthside Lounge, where the Case Competition winners will be announced.

The 2022 Case Competition is an opportunity for students of all majors to use their business knowledge, strategic thinking, and ingenuity to solve a real-world business problem!

Each year Foothill brings an innovative and impactful company to campus to collaborate with students on work that matters. Students form teams and compete against each other to develop the best business solution.

This Year's Case Competition Partnership

Foothill College * Google Health

This year, we are partnering with Google Health, a division of Google committed to transforming the future of healthcare with information.

Students will form teams and compete against each other to develop the best business solution.

The winning team will be invited to present their work in-person onsite at Google with Google Health leaders!

Who Can Participate?

Any community college student (not just Foothill College) from any major is encouraged to participate.

All you need is curiosity, desire to learn, and passion for getting real experience to make a difference in the world! Support will be offered to students on how to approach and succeed in the Case Competition.

What Are The Key Components

  • Students who join the competition can participate in teams of up to four students.
  • Students will learn about Google Health, and a specific project/problem they are working on.
  • Teams will then be given a prompt that is based on the project/problem.
  • Teams will develop a presentation that addresses the prompt.
  • The competition will be conducted in two rounds to identify the best presentation.

Preliminary Round

The Preliminary Round will consist of an online submission of a first draft submission team presentations. The due date for the Preliminary Round is November 16, 5 p.m. Submissions will be collected via Canvas. All team members will be required to join a Canvas Shell dedicated to the Case Competition. Instructions for joining the Canvas Shell will be made available at the first event in this series.

Final Round

The Final Round will consist of  a live presentation event on Friday, Dec. 2, where six selected teams will share their work with  Google Health professionals as well as many seasoned experts in the field.

  • Oct. 19: The Info Session. 3-4 p.m., Room 3015
  • Oct, 26: The Event Kickoff. Noon-1 p.m., KCI Room 4006
  • Nov. 2: The Workshop. Noon-1 p.m., KCI Room 4006
  • Nov. 16: Deadline for Preliminary Round Submission. 5 p.m.
  • Nov. 23: Finalists Announced. 5 p.m.
  • Dec. 2: Final Round Presentations. 1-4 p.m., Dining Hall (TBD)

Form a Team

Look for students with diverse backgrounds, varied majors, interests and skills. Teams can be 1-4 students. All members must be college students, and at least one student on the team must be a Foothill College student.

Fill Out the Interest Form

Attend the Info Session

The Business & Entrepreneurship Club will sponsor an Info Session for The Case Competition on Wednedsay, Oct. 19, at 3-4 p.m. in Room 3015. You'll   learn more about the competition, ask questions, and look for teammates.

Attend the Event Kickoff

The event officially begins on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Noon-1 p.m., where you will meet Google Health, receive detailed  instructions and the case prompt.
