 The Music Department at Foothill is one of the most storied and successful at the College. Since Foothill's beginnings in 1958, the Music Department has been regarded as one of the best music programs at any Community College in the U.S. Today, the Music Department is on the cutting edge of music education, with state of the art curriculum and facilities.
The Music Department also offers award winning online courses, such as Music of Multicultural America, Music Business, the Music of the Beatles, Entertainment Law and New Media, Musicianship and a host of others in addition to our traditional classroom based curriculum. The award-winning faculty is outstanding, and active as composers, authors, performers, arrangers and publishers in the Bay Area and US. Students have access to superior facilities and equipment, using the latest technologies Silicon Valley has to offer. Our classrooms include a 32 track, Pro Tools® based recording studio, a 30 station InterDisciplinary Electronic Arts Center, completely equipped with Korg® MIDI keyboards and Digidesign® software and hardware, a large piano lab, and newly remodeled, media-equipped lecture facilities.
