Summer Professional Development Moving from emergency remote teaching to quality online courses

This summer, we offer four distinct but interconnected learning communities that will allow you to work with peers, the office of equity, and the online learning team to help you revise, refresh, or reframe your courses--whatever your modality.

What is Swivl?

Swivl is a classroom technology that allows faculty to live stream their in-person lectures so remote students can participate in live lectures. It's also a great way to record lectures so students can review the lecture.

Swivl is user-friendly and easy to set up--it works with Zoom and your smartphone or iPad. Each division has a Swivl that you can check out from your division assistant.

Who needs Swivl?

  • Faculty who teach in person and want to reach their remote students at the same time. Prep and teach one class for two audiences!
  • Faculty who want to make their lectures available for students to review on their own time. Transcribe and caption those videos to make them accessible for all students.

How can I learn more?

Join us for a short presentation and tutorial on using Swivl. We strongly suggest you come in person so you can practice operating the device, but we will also stream the presentation.

When and Where?

We'll be running two on-campus Swivl workshops:

Thursday, February 17th @ 10:30 AM in 5015

Tuesday, February 22nd @ 2:30 PM in 5015

-OR- Join either session by Zoom: Swivl Workshop Zoom Link
