For those who are seeking a financially rewarding career and stable income, a degree or certificate in accounting can lead to occupations in financial and investment planning, budget analysis, tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll services, and auditing. Opportunities are often best for CPAs, CMAs, MBAs, or professionals proficient with accounting software.

Degree and Certificates

Earn an Associate in Arts degree in Accounting to start your career or prepare for transfer to a four-year university.

We also offer a variety of accounting certificates to choose from for upgrading your professional skills, including:

  • Certificate of Achievement in Accounting
  • Certificate of Achievement in CPA Exam Preparation
  • Tax Accounting Career Certificate
  • Financial Accounting Career Certficate
  • Bookkeeping Speciallist Certificate of Proficiency
  • Tax Specialist Certificate of Proficiency
  • Payroll Preparation Certificate of Proficiency

Take accounting and tax courses to fulfill the CPA educational unit requirement and to prepare for the CPA exam. Enroll in Accounting 67 to become CTEC Certified and Accounting 68 series to prepare for the Enrolled Agent exam.

Note: Career Certificates are non-transcriptable and consist of 13-35 units. These Certificates are designed as a career advancement tool. Courses focus on practical knowledge and skill development.

Numerous entry-level positions in accounting, auditing, tax, and other financial services are available domestically and internationally.
