Video Arts Instructor
Kristin Tripp Caldwell is the founder and director of the Video Arts Program at Foothill College. A video artist and photographer, Kristin received her MFA in Photography and video from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and her BFA in Photography from the University of North Texas, Denton. Awards include grants from the Experimental Television Center NY, Bronx Council of the Arts NY, and the Dallas Museum of Art. Kristin is currently busy at work on a new video installation series and her first short narrative film. She lives in the SF bay area with her husband and two daughters. Video Arts Instructor
Amy Harrison Shidler is a film and video artist who has worked in 16mm film and digital video. Her own work spans the range from narrative film to documentary to video art. Her work for hire includes editing dance films, directing music videos, producing corporate videos, and writing and producing news and entertainment pieces for TV broadcast. She has taught film and video classes at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Stanford, School of Visual Arts, and elsewhere. More about Amy at http://amyharrison.com.

Geetika Jain has been in the field of communications for almost 20 years. She received her Master’s Degree from Purdue University and her Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in communication studies. Her dissertation was about localization strategies of global media companies. Some of her work has been published as book chapters and journal articles. She taught for the University of North Texas in Denton as a visiting assistant professor and subsequently as an adjunct professor including courses in Mass Media and Modern Society as well as in International Communications. Geetika enjoys the enthusiasm that students bring as they discover subject matter that is new for them and feels refreshed by their contagious eagerness. Students in every class nourish and sustain her teaching.
Video Arts Instructor
Susan Rines earned a Master’s Degree in Film History and Criticism from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has been an instructor at De Anza College for over twenty years where she has worked in three different disciplines within the Film/TV Department--animation, scriptwriting, and film studies. Among the courses she has taught there are Animation Production, Character Animation, History of Animation, Scriptwriting, Intro to Film and History of the Cinema. She helped build the original animation program and in the ‘80s created and developed a six-quarter scriptwriting program. Other activities she has pursued in her field have included script consulting and freelance animation projects including two films created for children. Currently, she is working as a consultant on several feature length scripts. She also serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Farmworker Families and is involved in a film project designed to promote awareness of the difficult life circumstances of binational families and outline the organization’s work in improving the lives of these families both in the United States and Mexico. | |||||||||
