College Essay Help: Personal Statement Advice
Get help with a review of your personal essay/statement for content and persuasiveness.  Bring your completed essay printed for a review.

Common Application Workshop: How to Apply to a Private/Out-of-State College
Learn successful strategies for application to private and out-of-state institutions. In addition learn about financial aid opportunities. Please note that the workshop is not intended to replace advising from a counselor. The workshop will assist you in preparing to meet with your counselor. To obtain your individual educational plan, you must meet with a counselor.

Attend this workshop to learn the CSU admission requirements and how to access the web site.  This is a hands-on workshop at the computer.  Please bring unofficial transcripts.

How to Apply to UC (click to download PDF schedule)
This workshop is a presentation of the UC application.  You will learn general guidelines on how to submit the online application for admission.  Ask questions and learn how to be a successful applicant.  Please bring unofficial transcripts.

How to Write Your Personal Statement (download the PDF)
Get advice on writing a strong personal essay or statement.  Learn different approaches to writing essays to gain admittance into a UC.

Transfer Advising (download the PDF)
Drop in the Transfer Center to meet with a transfer counselor for an individual meeting.  Time is limited to 10-15 minutes for quick questions.

This college fair is an opportunity for you to explore various university options.  The event will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Small Gym.  Meet with admissions representations to find out more about your target universities.  The event is free and open to all students. More than 60 colleges will be in attendance.

After Transfer Day, on October 21, there will be a variety of admissions workshops and visits by college representatives.  Attendance is free.  For more information, visit the Transfer Day web page for details about sessions with these colleges listed below.

Nov. 5: UC San Diego Information Session (click to download PDF)
This workshop will be lead by a UCSD Admissions Counselor who will share information about the college, such as admissions requirements, majors, GPA, and expectations for acceptance.

Nov. 5: How Can the Associate Degree for Transfer Guarantee Me University Admission? (click to download PDF)
This workshop presentation helps students understand the requirements for the Associate Degree for Transfer.  Getting an AA-T or an AS-T Degree gives students priority admission into the CSU system.  Attend to learn what the Associate Degree for Transfer program can do for you.

Nov. 12: Next Steps Advising for Business Majors attending SJSU
Drop-in sessions will be led by a SJSU alumn and advisor from the Jack Holland Student Success Center. He will share his Top Ten Tips for transfer success.  He will answer questions about the business department and being a transfer student. He can address major questions that are not admissions related.
