Online Counseling Registration

Welcome to Foothill College’s On-Line Counseling

Online counseling is designed to provide students with the ability to access counseling services remotely utilizing message forums for quick questions, Email, fax, telephone, voice mail, and in person appointments when necessary.

Who should use online counseling?

Any Foothill student may use online counseling services. It is designed to be particularly helpful to students who may find it difficult to come to the Foothill or Middlefield campuses for counseling appointments.

Services provided

Online counseling includes a range of counseling services. For reason of confidentiality certain services like psychological counseling are not included.

What you need

The minimum requirements to receive electronic counseling services are internet access and Email.

Take advantage of our quick question forums. These are public forums. You do not need to be a student at Foothill and you do not need to follow the sign up procedures below. Just go to the Advising Center link and post your question on one of the 5 forums.

To sign up for an online counseling

You must be a registered student to sign up for counseling. Perform this simple sign up procedure any time you wish contact with a counselor. Complete the information below and press the Register button. You will receive an email reply from a counselor which will begin the counselor contact. To help speed up the process you may wish to summarize your concern in the textbox below. You are limited to 200 characters so just summarize.

Allow a few days for the counselor to get back. They work Mondays through Thursdays. If registering Thursday evening through Sunday you may have to wait until Monday for a response.

The drop down menu contains an alphabetical list of counselors and their area of specialty. When choosing a counselor contact, please note that ALL counselors can provide counsel and support on careers, transfer, academic problems and general college issues. Please choose only one counselor vs. registering for several counselors hoping to get a faster response.

Social Security Number Awareness
In accordance with federal and state laws,the Foothill-De Anza Community College District registration system requires a Social Security Number at the time of application. We are very sensitive to the issue of identity security and have a system in place that will assign you an eight-digit alternative student identification number. You will be able to access your records using either number. However, we have taken appropriate steps to ensure that no one has access to your transmission. Note: You can learn your Student ID by visiting the Registration system and selecting option to view Student ID.
