Foothill College Tenure Review
Welcome to the Tenure Review web site, a resource for tenure committee members.
Faculty wishing to serve on a tenure review committee must complete a tenure review training session and be confirmed by the Academic Senate.
Tenure Review committees consist of the dean of the tenure candidate's division (or other appropriate administrator) and two faculty nominated by the division faculty. These three constitute the Core Committee, which elects one of its members to serve as committee chair. The Core Committee is augmented during Phases I and II by the affiliated Vice President and an at-large tenured faculty from outside the division and appointed by the Academic Senate.
Faculty receive one unit (quarter system) of professional growth activity (two units for the chair) for each of the three phases of service on a tenure committee if all the evaluation duties delegated to him or her are completed.
Forms and other documents listed below are used by committee members and can be downloaded by using the appropriate links from this page. Committee members should also become familiar with the specific information contained in Article 6A of the Agreement, Evaluation of Probationary Faculty, and the Tenure Review Handbook. The Tenure Review Coordinator can also be consulted for assistance.
