Tessa Morris (ASFC President) Hello voters! My name is Tessa Morris and I am running for ASFC President. After graduating high school early, I quickly became involved in student government, and was appointed as the yearly position of Marketing Commissioner. While this was the first year that ASFC had a Marketing board, I learned great leadership and management skills. In addition, I've attended various leadership conferences where I learned about the community college issues on a statewide level. I am extremely committed and would love to serve you all, the students of Foothill College, as the 2009-2010 student body President. Top of page |

Shane Courtney (ASFC President) I came to California specifically to go to Foothill College. I came here because of the excellent tradition and reputation that Foothill has across the region due to its extraordinary achievements in ensuring the success of its students. However, in light of the current economic climate I understand the daunting challenges that face our College. I am ready to meet these challenges head on. And from being involved in student government and over half a dozen student and faculty organizations I have the necessary qualifications and experience to do just that. Top of page |

Jacob Joo (Vice President of Senate) Hello, my name is Jacob Joo; I am finishing up my first year at Foothill and my second consecutive quarter of involvement in ASFC. I am currently an Activities Coordinator after being the Sports Liaison Manager. I have participated in various events, such as; MLK Rally, March of March (budget rally in Sacramento), Day on the Hill, etc. I am also a part of the LGBT month planning committee, and one of the last members of Brother-to-Brother. I am eager to be the next VP of Senate since this board is essentially the "bridge" between our students and student government/school. I want to fortify this connection with my authentic outgoing personality, passion for people (especially students), and my openness to all backgrounds and ideas. Top of page |

Keish Nishijima (Vice President of Senate) My name is Keish Nishijima and I am running for Vice President of Senate. As a second year student at Foothill, I have come to realize the value of active participation and involvement here on campus. Being involved as a Senator in 2008-09 has opened my eyes to the wealth of possibilities offered in ASFC. Serving on the Senate Board gave me the opportunity and experience to become the most effective intermediary between the student body and our student government. While this experience has transformed me into a better leader and student liaison, it has also humbled me in ways that only student government could. If this year has taught me anything, it has shown me the importance of collaboration, dedication, and perseverance. It is this approach I will take with me into the next school year as a candidate for Vice President of Senate. Top of page |

(Johnson) Chi Yip Chan (Vice President of Finance) We're all deeply affected by the current financial difficulties, and NOW is the time when we need a strong leader. Moreover, your student government needs someone who vows to put your fee to its best use. How can we benefit as many students as we can with our limited resources? It's challenging, but I believe with my experience from being a Campus Center Board Chair makes me best fit for this responsibility. I deeply believe in allocating funds to people who best deserve them, and I will look beyond our current sphere of influence to reach out to more students. Top of page

Ryan Raffel (Student Trustee) Although not from a political family, Ryan Raffel is passionate about making a difference in the world that's treated him so well. Raffel's campaign for student trustee is based on common-sense ideas and hard work. He understands that in a tough economy, there is a limit to how many resources Foothill can devote to particular problems. He also understands that being a trustee is about advocacy and making the trustees aware of students' feelings regarding the current issues. Raffel sees this position as a real opportunity to raise the expectations of student leadership, and bring about tangible changes. Top of page |
