How to Drop a Class
For your convenience, there are several options you can use to drop a class. You will be required to supply the complete course title and course number. Simply complete one of the drop process steps listed below:

Call Foothills telephone registration system at (408) 777-9394 or (650) 917-0509. Follow the voice prompts to complete the drop process.

Go to Apply & Register and use the online registration form.
- Write a letter that includes your full name, Social Security Number or student ID, signature, complete course title and course number. Mail to Foothill College Admissions & Records Office, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022-4599.

Fax your drop request and include your full name, Social Security Number or student ID, signature, complete course title and course number to (650) 949-6979.
- Visit either of the Admissions & Records Offices in-person during business hours. Be certain to bring your Social Security Number or student ID and photo identification.
How to Drop a Class with a W:
If you choose to drop your class during the college’s withdrawal period, follow the steps below to complete the drop process. Dropping a class by telephone or online is not available during the withdrawal period. See REGISTRATION & KEY DATES located on the Catalog and Schedule page and look for the appropriate quarter. Withdrawal period dates change on a quarterly basis.
- Write a letter that includes your full name, Social Security Number or student ID, signature, complete course title and course number. Your signed letter must be received by the Admissions & Records Office by the last day to drop for the quarter. Mail to Foothill College Admissions & Records Office, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022-4599.
- Fax your drop request including your full name, Social Security Number or student ID, signature, complete course title and course number to (650) 949-7048. Be certain to sign your fax request. Your fax request must be received by the Admissions & Records Office by the last day to drop for the quarter.
- Visit either of the Admissions & Records Office in-person during business hours. Be certain to bring your Social Security Number or student ID and photo identification.
