Adding a Class After the Quarter Begins
You can now add courses via the Foothill online registration system during the first two weeks of the quarter. However, after the first two weeks of the quarter, you must complete the add process in person at the Admissions & Records Office.
NOTE: Once registered, your fees are due. You will be dropped from all classes if payment in full is not remitted by the end of the second week of the quarter (by end of first week for Summer Session).

To Add a Class After the Quarter Has Started, Complete the Following Steps:
Telephone Instructions
- Get permission from the course instructor to add the course;
- Collect an Add Label from the instructor. The label lists the term, course name, instructor name, call number and an official authorization number;
- Call (650) 917-0509 or (408) 777-9394
- Log into Foothill College system, and request registration for correct quarter.
- Input Course Call number, the system will require you to input a Permit Number.
- After class or classes are confirmed, return to the billing menu, pay fees.
Internet (WEB) Instructions
- Get permission from the course instructor to add the course;
- Collect an Add Label from the instructor. The label lists the term, course name, instructor name,call number and an official authorization number;
- Affix the Add Label to an Add Card. You can download an Add Card here or pick one up in the Admissions Office;
- Access http://www.foothill.edu/reg/stepschk.html on any computer with Internet access;
- Log into registration system.
- Go to registration, put call number in call number area.
- Click on ADD NOW, a screen will appear that states Permit Number Required.
- Enter Permit Number, click Add Course Now.
- View updated schedule, go to Your Account and make payment if paying by credit card, or send in payment to:

Troubleshooting
Your Add Request will not be successfully processed if you have:
- Any holds on your record;
- Exceeded 20 units for the quarter;
- A time conflict;
- Unmet prerequisites for the course;
- Not requested class and co-requisites at the same time; and/or
- No current Application for Admission on file in the Admissions Office.
