Board of Governors Fee Waiver

State law requires that students attending California Community Colleges pay an enrollment fee. The California Community Colleges Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOG) permits these enrollment fees to be waived for all eligible California residents. The BOG is designed to cover your enrollment fees only. Other campus resources exist to assist with the purchase of books and supplies and must be applied for separately.

Understanding Eligibility:

If you are a California resident, you may qualify for a BOG if any one of the following applies to your current status:

  1. You have filed the FAFSA and have an unmet need, or
  2. You or your family are receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), CalWORKS, or Supplemental Security Income (SSI/SSP), or General Assistance/General Relief, or
  3. You have certification from the California Department of Veterans Affairs of the California National Guard Adjutant General that you are eligible for a dependent’s fee waiver, or
  4. You meet the income requirements in the Method-B Eligibility. You are also encouraged to file a FAFSA, as you may be eligible for additional funding. Please call (650) 949-7245 for one-on-one assistance..

Applicants are required to submit the completed BOG form for each academic year (July 1st –June 30th). The form can be completed online, or is available as a pdf document for downloading and is also available in the campus Financial Aid Office.

Note: Students who are exempted from paying nonresident tuition under Education Code Section 68130.5 (AB 540) are not California residents.

If you are not California resident you are not eligible for this fee waiver. Do not complete this application. You can still file the FAFSA to be evaluated for other aid. Please obtain a FAFSA and complete it or complete a web application at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Please call (650) 949-7245 for one-on-one assistance.
