Meeting Times
This is a year long class that begins every July at the start of Summer session.
The course is team taught by Cindy Lee and Kent Manske.
Open studio hours, with instructor present, are determined each quarter based on input by enrolled participants.
You will be invited to participate in critiques, demonstrations, collaborative projects and field trips.
Studio hours are communicated to enrolled participants. Participants communicate with each other through a Yahoo Group called "Foothill Printmakers".
About the Course
Course Description:
Supervised studio practice in printmaking projects. Application of skills learned in previously taken graphic arts courses.
Course Objectives:
Provide studio access, instruction, information, resources and support that will enable class participants to:
• set and achieve goals for their individual development as artists.
• make original prints.
• share their information and skills with other participants.
Expected Outcomes:
The student will be able to:
1. define goals and manage the pace of projects from conception to completion.
2. present your work and critique the work of other print artists.
3. participate in the functions of managing and maintaining a print studio.
Encouraged Outcomes:
Participants will:
1. demonstrate an understanding of the design process: information gathering, idea generation, concept development and distribution.
2. help plan, organize and participate in exhibitions, and displays.
3. recognize and appreciate the artistic contributions made by people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

How will you develop your work as an artist.
For example, consider identifying:
- what interests you want to pursue and how you will pursue them.
- what skills you want to learn (or improve) and how you will apply these skills to your print work.
- what projects or bodies of work you will plan to complete.

Evaluation
Your evaluation will be based on your defined goals and your success at meeting your defined goals.
