As a part of our celebration of Women's History Month, author Margit Liesche will give an illustrated talk about her newest book, Hollywood Buzz. The book’s protagonist, pilot/secret agent, Pucci Lewis, is a member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), the elite wartime corps of female pilots that served on the home front. The storyline takes Pucci inside the movie studios where espionage and danger get equal billing with glamour and cinema
stars of the day. The talk incorporates documentary footage of the WASP and
clips from FMPU films and Ladies Courageous, starring Loretta Young, Geraldine
Fitzgerald and Diana Barrymore, the only feature film made of the WASP.
