Foothill College Accreditation

Student studying in the library.Foothill College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. This organization is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

The college maintains its accreditation by fulfilling criteria that the commission determines. Foothill's review is continuous throughout a six-year cycle. Reviews include an Annual Report, an Annual Fiscal Report, a Midterm Report, completion of a comprehensive institutional self study, and an evaluation review by a team of peers.

As Foothill College continues its ongoing Accreditation cycle, the community, students,faculty and staff are invited to follow the process and participate in the process. Critical elements of the cycle such as an integrated planning and budgeting structure, student learning outcomes, program review and strategic and educational master planning continue to be developed throughout the cycle, and this cannot happen without the collaborative decision making and support from the community.
