Meet Your Owl Scholars Team

Who We Are

The Foothill College Owl Scholars Program is our campus early alert support system. The program is designed to provide encouragement, motivation, and direct connection to tutoring services, on-campus resources, as well as, other support services.

Become an Owl Scholar   

Are you enrolled in one or more of these foundational classes at Foothill? If yes, and you are referred by your instructor — you are eligible to be an Owl Scholar!

  • ENGLISH 209, 110, 1S/1T
  • ESLL 226, 227, 236, 237, 249
  • MATH 105, 220, 1A

As an OWL Scholar, you'll receive assistance from our team, especially when obstacles may get in your way.

  • Receive one-on-one guidance from our supportive staff who can connect you to tutoring resources and other services on campus
  • Create an action plan to keep you on track and focused on your goals throughout the quarter
  • Attend workshops and study groups
  • Develop a support community at Foothill College

If you have ever felt like your time is not your own, then this workshop is for you! If you want to start the quarter with some sense of organization, then this workshop is REALLY for you!

FINALS PREP

Are you feeling overwhelmed by all the material you have to study to prepare for finals? If your study plan includes a lot of staring into space, or 10-minute cram sessions with a 50-minute break in between — then you really need this workshop!

You'll learn how to:

  • Develop a realistic calendar for your study session
  • Get the most out of your studying through session goal setting
  • Be more efficient in identifying what you need to study
By the end of this workshop you will walk away with a finals plan for one class, along with the skills and tools to create plans for any other classes you're taking.
