Parking Information

The Foothill-De Anza District Police Department supervises on-campus parking and traffic. The following rules and regulations apply to all students, staff and public. You can find a complete list of college parking and traffic regulations in the Admissions & Records Office and District Police Department, Room D100.
  • The speed limit in campus parking areas and access ways is 5 miles per hour. The speed limit of 20 miles per hour is posted on all roadways and is strictly enforced.
  • Except in areas with 30-minute parking meters, all vehicles must display a valid parking permit to park on campus. Failure to display a permit will result in a citation.
  • Parking permits are required seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. This requirement is enforced.
  • Parking permits are not required at Middlefield Campus.
  • Day-use parking permits are $2 and are valid for the date of purchase only. Purchase from red and yellow permit dispensers in all student parking lots. Purchase quarterly permits from the Admissions & Records Office. Red permit dispensers are located in all student parking lots and require EIGHT QUARTERS at the same time to operate. Yellow permit dispensers are located in student lots 1, 2 & 5 and accept either ONE DOLLAR BILLS or assorted change.
  • All vehicles must properly display a valid parking permit. Students are authorized to park in marked stalls in student lots only. Students may not park in stalls marked for disabled, staff, vendors, official vehicles or park in roadways, dirt areas or along parking lot curbing. People with disabilities are required to display state-issued identification on their vehicles or, in the event of temporary disabilities, obtain permits from the Disability Resource Center, Room 5801; or call (650) 949-7017.
  • Staff parking permits are required for all staff spaces. Staff permits are issued by the District Police Department.
  • Special permits will be issued only by the District Police Department. The permit must be displayed on the dashboard or hang on the interior mirror so it can be read from the outside. Special permits are valid only when used within the areas and dates designated on the permit.
  • Motor vehicles, bicycles and skateboards are not permitted on the interior portion of campus.
  • Don’t invite theft by leaving articles of value in your automobile. Anything left in a car should be locked in the trunk. Lock your vehicle.
  • All vehicles remaining for more than 20 minutes in areas posted for 20-minute maximum will be cited.
  • Parking or loitering on campus after 11 p.m. and/or after special activities is prohibited.

Possession of a parking permit does NOT guarantee you a parking space. If the lot is full, you must try another student parking lot. Before purchasing a DAILY PERMIT, always find a legal parking space first. REMEMBER, PARKING IS IN MARKED SPACES ONLY!

MOTORCYCLES are required to display a valid parking permit and park in designated motorcycle parking areas ONLY! Motorcycle parking is located in lot 1D and 4C. To trade a regular permit for a motorcylce permit contact the Police Dept.

DISABLED PERSONS VEHICLES displaying proper Disabled Person Placards or license plates may park in any STUDENT/STAFF/ or METERED SPACES without the need of a PARKING PERMIT, however, no parking is allowed in specially marked spaces (ie. loading zones). Both Foothill and De Anza campuses have several Disabled Person Parking Areas, which are marked with the traditional blue sign and symbol. Disabled persons are encouraged to use those areas. Persons not displaying the proper permit will be cited. The current fine is $281.00. Specially issued disabled permits from the Disabled Students Office DO require a PARKING PERMIT as it is says on the permit.

PARKING is available for official visitors to both Foothill and De Anza campuses upon request from the Police department.

Section 23113A of the California Vehicle Code grants the authority for the Foothill-De Anza College Police Department to enforce ALL Vehicle Code violations on the parking lots and roadways within the Foothill-De Anza Community College District property. In addition, the District may adopt it's own regulations, to provide adaquate parking, and the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles.

THE PARKING INFORMATION IS POSTED ON SIGNS AT THE ENTRANCE TO FOOTHILL COLLEGE, AND IS POSTED ON SIGNS AT THE ENTRANCE TO EVERY LOT ON CAMPUS!

The above regulations apply 365 days a year unless otherwise noted. Illegally parked vehicles can be cited and/or towed, EVEN IF CLASS IS NOT IN SESSION, and overnight parking is NOT allowed. Read all signs and road markings carefully. Be sure to park only in a marked space, clearly display your permit, and lock your vehicle.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on campus.
For more information, call the District Police Department at (650) 949-7313.
