The Vagina Monologues is an international phenomenon that has struck a chord with women around the world, said Foothill College Health Services Coordinator Naomi Kitajima. The show features three actresses who give voice to the thoughts, dreams, fears and fantasies of countless women. Both hilarious and disturbing, the women discuss everythingorgasms, giving birth, menstruation, rape and incest.
The Foothill production stars Foothill Drama Instructor Janis Bergmann of Sunnyvale, Julie Valentine of Hayward and Susan Overland of San Jose.
V-Day events generate broader attention for the fight to stop worldwide violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, genital mutilation and sexually slavery. For V-Day information, access www.vday.org.
