If youre ready for a change of pace in your workout, enroll in the new HP 32D: Pilates course offered this quarter at both the Foothill Main Campus in Los Altos Hills and Middlefield Campus in Palo Alto. Offered mornings and evenings, men and women of all fitness levels will benefit from this one-unit class.
Pilates has experienced a popularity surge and is now used by physical therapists for rehabilitation as well as people who are interested in toning muscles and improving posture, flexibility and balance for a more streamlined shape.
The course will emphasize the floor exercise component of Pilates training. By completing movements on floor mats, you will focus on connecting the mind and body, strengthening core muscles, increasing precision, implementing effective breathing techniques and improving mental health.
Spend Spring Quarter 2002 in Florence, Italy, and immerse yourself in the language and culture of the Renaissance in a city still adorned with the paintings, sculpture and architecture of Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Brunelleschi. The trip runs April 28 through June 21. The program fee includes housing, three meals a day with a host family and weekly laundry service. Group airfare may be offered and financial aid is available.
Space is limited and applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must have a 2.5 grade point average and completed 12 units of college credit prior to departure.
