If you're looking for short, affordable technology classes to learn the latest software, enroll in the one- or two-day LINC (Learning in New Technologies) classes offered in the state-of-the-art Krause Center for Innovation at Foothill College. Prepare for the Latest Technology Certificates
If you're employed in the high-tech industry, you know that having specialty certification is critical for your paycheck and resumé. Foothill Offers New Informatics Degree & Certificate Program
This spring, Foothill debuts its new Informatics Program, which is designed to prepare students to upgrade or acquire new vocational skills in the emerging field of information analysis. The use of informatics in data/information analysis is on the increase, and informatics job opportunities will continue to match new developments in information technology.
The primary job role for graduates of the program is research analyst in their respective area of emphasis. Foothill's Informatics Program is designed to provide you with skills to apply analysis to information in a specific area of emphasis such as the sciences, business, social sciences and many others. Specific areas where the results of informatics analysis are being seen include security, forensics, biology and chemistry, database systems, financial analysis, journalism, psychology and social informatics.
The cross-discipline program is built on a core set of database skills, and data analysis tools defined by specific courses. For the associate degree and career certificate, the final course in the curriculum is a special project, encompassing data/information analysis skills with an area of emphasis such as those defined above. The result is suitable for job experience.
You can complete the associate degree (90 units) in informatics in approximately 24 months. The career certificate (56 units) can be completed in 15 months and the skills certificate (23 units) can be completed in six months. Campus Abroad
Earn college credit and develop a global perspective by participating in Foothill- De Anza's Campus Abroad Program in Salamanca, Spain, this fall. Named UNESCO's Heritage of Humanity City, Salamanca will introduce you to the flamenco, Plaza Mayor and inhabitants who speak the purest Spanish in SpainCastilian. For this reason, Salamanca is enormously popular with people all over the world who want to learn Spanish. Courses included in the eight-week program include Spanish, literature, humanities and art, and are taught by Foothill-De Anza faculty. Rewarding Careers: Pharmacy Technician
Find out if a career as a pharmacy technician is right for you by enrolling in the one-unit PHT 200L: Pharmacy Technician as a Career course. You'll learn about the role of the pharmacy technician and the modern pharmacy. You will also learn about the curriculum, faculty and requirements of the Pharmacy Technician Program offered by Foothill College.
Pharmacy technicians work in a variety of settings, including retail, hospital, home health care, public and government health agencies, veterinary pharmacies and nursing home pharmacies. Foothill's popular Pharmacy Technician Program is a nine-month certificate program. The expanded two-year program leads to the Associate in Science Degree in Pharmacy Technology. Now PlayingIntroduction to Film Course

Learn about one of the 21st century's dominant forms of communication by enrolling in the FTV 1: Introduction to Film Studies course. In addition to weekly readings, and film viewing and discussion, you'll learn about the language, technology and aesthetics of the moving image. The course is designed to give you an introduction to the critical analysis of film and video. The four-unit course also fulfills general education transfer requirements. This fall, Foothill will debut a new associate degree in video arts.
