Earning Your Bachelor’s Degree Just Got Easier
Transfer Admission Agreements & New Online Bachelor’s Degree Program Streamline Completion of Your B.A.

It’s now easier than ever to earn your bachelor’s degree and Foothill College can help. It all starts with our transfer admission agreements (TAA).

The TAA is an agreement you make with a participating college or university. Simply complete the agreed-upon sequence of classes in general education and a selected major with a stated minimum grade point average, and the university guarantees it will admit you at the start of your third year. It’s that easy!

Working together with your Foothill counselor, you will create an education plan that will qualify you to take advantage of a TAA.

The impressive schools that recognize the value of a Foothill education and offer you transfer admissions agreements include Cornell University*, CSU Monterey Bay, Franklin University, Menlo College, Notre Dame de Namur University, Mills College, Santa Clara University, San Jose State University (CSU), San Francisco State University (CSU), UC Davis, UC Los Angeles**, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, University of the Pacific and University of San Francisco.

There are certain restrictions, so it’s critical that you meet early and often with a Foothill counselor to monitor your progress toward the completion of a TAA.

Another Innovative Option
Earn Your Bachelor’s Degree Online at Foothill College You can also take advantage of a new partnership between Foothill College and Ohio’s Franklin University to earn your bachelor’s degree online.

Here’s how it works: You’ll enroll in on-campus classes at Foothill as well as online courses administered by Franklin. Upon completion of the Foothill associate degree, you will complete a series of “bridge” courses at Foothill while simultaneously taking online classes through Franklin University. While enrolled in the program, you will receive support services from both schools, including counseling and library access.

For more information about the Foothill-Franklin online bachelor’s degree, access www.alliance.franklin.edu or call (888) 341-6237. To schedule an appointment with a Foothill counselor to discuss a TAA, call (650) 949-7423.

New Course
Use Technology to Enhance Your Writing Skills

Learn to improve your writing skills by enrolling in the one-unit ALLD: 114: Technology-Based Writing course at Foothill College this summer. The course uses Inspiration software as a graphic organizer to plan and create outlines of an assignment.

By manipulating text in Inspiration, you can then organizing your writing before pasting it into a word processing program. You then learn how to use Microsoft Word or Kurzweil (a "talking" word processor), to form ideas into paragraphs and add words to clarify concepts and ideas. You’ll also learn how to listen to your document as an aid for editing. In addition, you’ll participate in peer review of your papers to help polish your writing before submitting it.

Developed by Foothill Learning Disabilities Instructor Janet Spybrook, the course is ideal for students of all abilities who are concurrently enrolled in ENGL 100, 110 or 1A courses as well as those who are just interested in learning how to organize their writing.
