Wanted: Aspiring Authors

Foothill Hosts 24th Annual Writers Conference

Aspiring authors and poets are invited to participate in the 24th Annual Foothill Writers Conference June 22–27. Award-winning novelists, screenwriters and poets will conduct lectures, panel presentations and manuscript workshops for participants. Daily faculty readings and one-on-one critique sessions will also be presented. Admission for the popular six-day event is $75. To request a conference brochure, call (650) 949-7316.

Foothill Partners with Career Action Center

The Foothill College Middlefield Campus in Palo Alto and Silicon Valley’s popular Career Action Center (CAC) have teamed up to expand the variety of career services available to Foothill students and area residents.

Students and community members can now access CAC information books and tapes at the Foothill Middlefield Campus. Career Action Center-sponsored professional development and personal enrichment workshops will be offered at the Middlefield Campus this spring, including Resume Writing Basics, April 29; Job Searching on the Web, May 6; and Interviewing Techniques, May 13.

Admission to workshops is free for Foothill College students with a valid OwlCard. Admission is $30 for CAC members; $40 for non-members. To register for CAC workshops, call (408) 343-2711.

Start an Accounting Career

Begin a rewarding, challenging and well-paying accounting career at Foothill College. Students who enroll in the accounting program can earn several job-specific certificates of proficiency as well as the Associate in Arts Degree in Accounting.

Most Foothill accounting classes are fully transferable to all campuses of the University of California and California State University as well as most other public and private universities nationwide.
