Work Out in Our Newly Designed Fitness Facilities
Newly Redesigned & Relocated Fitness Center
Foothill's newly redesigned Fitness Center is now open in its new location in Room 2506. Also new this fall, you can enroll in a yearlong session to work out in the center from September through June. You need only register one time for the three-unit HP 2Z01 yearlong course. To work out in the Fitness Center for individual quarters, enroll in the one-unit
HP 9 course.
By enrolling in either class, you'll use the center's state-of-the-art aerobic and weight equipment, get expert instruction from Foothill faculty, and work with a personal trainer to set up and monitor your individual fitness program.
Unlike pricey commercial gyms, California residents pay $17 per unit of instruction at Foothill. Fitness Center hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Bigger, Better Locker Rooms
Foothill's newly redesigned locker rooms now feature more than 200 new lockers for both the men's and women's locker rooms. Students enrolled in physical education courses can use the locker rooms weekdays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
New Dance Studio Features Harlequin Sprung Floor System
Dancers can enhance their performances and reduce the risk of injury by training in Foothill's Dance Studio, which features a new Harlequin sprung floor system, raised ceilings, ballet barres, mirrored walls and a state-of-the-art sound system. At 2,800 square feet, the new studio provides an excellent training facility for Foothill's ballet, jazz and modern dance classes as well as Pilates and flexibility training courses.

Foothill Construction Update
Local tax dollars are visibly at work at Foothill College, with the dramatic construction progress of the new Lower Campus Complex and Campus Center. The Lower Campus Project, which houses a new Life Sciences Building, Lohman Theater, Student Services Building and a classroom building is rising on the south slope of the college. The project's scheduled completion date is Spring 2007.
Meanwhile, the new two-building Campus Center located at the east end of the campus is completing the installation of foundations and will soon take shape. Set to open Fall 2006, the center will include space for student government, health and police services, bookstore and dining area for community events as well as campus activities.
Residents and students who use Foothill's fitness and athletic facilities can now enjoy renovated and remodeled locker rooms, Fitness Center, Dance Studio, gymnasiums, and physical education offices. Read more about these remodeled facilities in the above article. Foothill's stadium also kicks off the 2005 football season with newly installed artificial turf as well as a new grass practice field.
Students enrolled in fall computer science courses will find newly reconstructed classrooms. In September, construction begins on the complete renovation of Building 6100, which houses Foothill's popular Photography Program. Pavement and new lighting will also be added
to Parking Lot 1H.
In addition, construction will soon be completed on the new Central Plant Project. Essentially an on-site power plant, the new facility will provide chilled water for air conditioning and hot water for heating to the Foothill campus.
Foothill College thanks its students and neighbors for their patience and support during this period of construction. Measure E is a 10-year plan to renovate existing college facilities as well as construct new facilities at Foothill and De Anza colleges. Voters approved the passage of Measure E in 1999. Funding for Measure E projects is generated from general obligation bonds. These funds are not subject to state budget cuts, and can only be used for facilities projects.
