Survivor Training Classes
Fitness Challenge

Challenge your fitness level in Foothill’s boot-camp style HP 16D: Survivor Training course. Designed for the average group exercise participant, the one-unit class uses non-stop motion and intensive training to develop core strength, cardiovascular conditioningand muscle tone. Footwork, anaerobic and aerobic conditioning, and muscular strength and power are also emphasized.

“If you’re committed to fitness, like to sweat and are ready to take your workout to the next level, this course is ideal for you,” says Sue Gatlin, dean of the Foothill Human Performance Division.

The class is offered at various times, including Monday and Wednesday
from 6 to 7 a.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 a.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon.

Foothill Debuts CompTIA Security+ Course
New Course Series

Foothill debuts its new network security course series this fall with the four-unit CNET 56A: Network Security course. The class will prepare you to successfully take the CompTIA Security+ certification test which covers topics such as communication security, infrastructure security, cryptography, access control, authentication, external attack and operational and organization security.

Generally considered to bea prerequisite to advanced security certifications, CompTIA Security+ is an important tool in the IT professional’s arsenal to safeguard against theft, hackers and security threats.

Foothill computer science faculty will offer more courses in the network security series in subsequent quarters.

Spend Spring in Paris

Eiffel TowerThe art treasures of the Louvre, historical significance of the Arc de Triomphe, and French conversation at a sidewalk café will make your classes come to life as you earn college credit in Paris during Spring 2005. Foothill and De Anza college faculty will lead the eight-week campus abroad program. You’ll experience French life and culture by visiting the chateaux ofthe Loire Valley, Monet’s home in Giverny, Mont Saint Michel and the coastal village of Saint Malo.

Destination Specialist Course Focuses on Latin America
New Course

cathedralTravel professionals can add Latin America specialty training to their résumés by enrolling in the TC 83B: Destination Specialist Series: Latin America course. The three-unit course meets Thursdays, Oct. 7 through Dec. 9, from 6 to 10 p.m.

The course provides in-depth knowledge of geographical, historical and cultural features of Latin America and highlights major tourism areas in Mexico, Central America and South America. Upon completion of the class, you are eligible to take the ICTA DS Exam and earn a diploma that is recognized throughout the travel industry.
