New Business & Social Science Career Certificates Available

Upgrade & Advance Your Career Skills

Foothill now offers a variety of new business and social science career certificates. These short-term intensive programs provide you with a convenient way to upgrade and advance your career skills. New certificates are now available for child development, travel careers and real estate professionals.
  • Child Development - Five new career certificates now available. Each certificate qualifies you for a higher-level teaching permit approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. New certificates include child development assistant, associate teacher, teacher, master teacher and site supervisor. For details, access our BSS Child Development site.
  • Travel Careers - Five new career certificates, including online reservationist, business travel specialist (North America or International emphasis), wholesale travel specialist and leisure travel specialist. For details, access this BSS Travel Careers site.

Information Age Means Library Job Options

The Information Age has created a huge need for trained professionals who can manage information and library resources. The number of library technology jobs available at academic, public, corporate and specialty libraries continues to increase.

Fall Quarter is the time to enter the Foothill Library Technology Program to develop valuable skills that will give you the advantage over the competition for a library career.

Grant Benefits Child Development Professionals

Earn While You Learn

If you currently work with children at a child care center or you’re considering earning a child development teaching permit, you may be eligible to participate in the Foothill College Child Development Training Consortium Grant Fund. Students who participate in the grant receive an $18-stipend for each child development course unit completed.

Foothill offers a variety of child development courses this fall, including infant and toddler development, the special needs child, child growth and development, parenting, and designing and starting child care facilities.
