This information is current for the academic year 2007-2008

This page is for students completing their degree on campus - online degree candidates click here

There are two types of students who enter our program; those who seek a degree or certificate, and those who are looking for technical training or academic enlightenment. If you are seeking a degree, we suggest you begin in Fall Quarter, and take the courses in this sequence:

Year One Year Two

Fall:

MUS 66A
MUS 80
MUS 85A
1 GE requirement
Total Units = 15/16 (depending on the GE)

Winter:

MUS 66B
MUS 81A
MUS 56
1 GE requirement
Total Units = 15/16 (depending on the GE)

Spring:

MUS 64A (or B)
MUS 81B
1 GE requirement
1 Support course
Total Units = 15/16 (depending on the GE)

Fall:

MUS 50A
1 GE requirement
2 Support courses
Total Units = 15/16 (depending on the GE)

Winter:

GE requirements, Support Courses and Electives as needed
Total Units = 15/16

Spring:

GE requirements, Support Courses and Electives as needed
Total Units = 15/16

With this plan, you finish the core courses and electives by the end of Fall Quarter, year 2. That leaves 2 quarters to pursue the rest of your academic requirements and engage in any special projects you might like to undertake. Since you will have been completely trained in the use of the studio, etc., this is an ideal time to start a recording project, video, etc. Also, if you take a quarter off, or don't finish a course, you have plenty of "breathing room" to retake classes or clean up whatever is undone.

If you decide to take Summer classes, this schedule can be accelerated!

If you are a student seeking academic study, and have no need for a degree or certificate, you can view our current schedule by clicking on the "current class schedule" link above. Ready to enroll? You can enroll online by clicking on the "register for classes" link above.
