WHAT:
|
Writing Center tutors, experienced teachers and writers, give students advice on writing assignments, job and college applications, and essay examinations. Tutors will not proof-read for you or correct your errors, but they will help you to improve on your use of
- thesis statement
- essay development
- form (beginning, middle, end)
- outlines/organization
- transitionals
- sentence structure/grammar
- documentation

WHO:
|
Students enrolled in a Foothill composition or reading course can make appointments. Students wishing help on writing assignments for other courses, transfer essays, or financial aid applications may not make appointments but can receive help on a drop-in basis.

HOW:
|
Students can call 650.949.7290 for appointments or sign up on the appointment board in the Writing Center. Students should bring a copy of their assignment and a legible, hard copy of their essay. Tutors will help with all stages of the writing process: brainstorming, development and revision.
