Enroll in Classes

There are three steps to enroll in ESL classes:

1. Complete an application.
2. Take a placement test.
3. Register

You can complete an application in three ways:

1. Call Alexandra Duran at (650) 949-7386.
2. Come to Foothill College to the Admissions and Records Office and ask for a paper application.
3. Complete an application online.

TO COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION

1. Click on the word application to go to the application page. You will need your social security number. If you do not have a social security number, call (650) 949-7325 to get a student identification number.
   
2. Click on Foothill Application for Admission.
   
3. Follow the instructions. If you need help, call Alexandra Duran at the number above.

TO TAKE THE PLACEMENT TEST

1. Click on the word placement to go to the placement page.
2. Click on the ESL button.
3. Click on the Schedule an Appointment to make an appointment to take the test.
4. For questions, call (650) 949-7230 or go to room 5006.

The placement test uses a computer. It has three parts: grammar, listening and reading. Some students may also take the writing part. This test will place you in a level in the ESL Program. To read a description of the levels and classes, click on the word Level here.


TO REGISTER FOR CLASSES

1. Click on the word register to go to the registration page.
2. Click on Foothill Registration System.
3. Click on Login.
4. Enter your Student Identification Number (SID).
5. Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
