What is FASTtech?
Designed to meet the technology training needs of elementary, middle, secondary and community college educators, FASTtech features a series of short, affordable and conveniently timed classes for K-14 educators that address the new CA Technology Proficiencies for credentialing. In addition to learning the applications, our classes provide an opportunity to discover ways to incorporate the technology into every aspect of the school's program including the teachers' curriculum. Classes are appropriate for administrators, teachers and instructional assistants.
Most classes are short and focussed on the needs of busy educators. Most equal one unit of credit with 12 hours of instruction or 1/2 unit of credit with 6 hours of instruction. We have a few 2 unit courses and one 3 unit course. We have hybrid (a combination of face to face and online instruction, and, in additon to classes in our new KCI building on the Foothill College Campus, we offer classes at RAFT, and the San Mateo County Office of Education. In addition, we are offering online classes to be taken in the convenience of your home or office at the time that meets your full schedule.
Now in it's fifth year of operation, FASTtech has listened to teacher evaluations and designed this current schedule to reflect their input. As
part of the new Center for Innovation (CFI) at Foothill College, FASTtech
functions as the hub for understanding the needs and demands of K-14 teachers. It
is our ongoing policy to adapt our program to the changing environment
of the classroom. It is important that we hear from you. Call FASTtech at
