Why You Should Attend a Practical Training Workshop
Current Students: Are you going to graduate soon and thinking about getting some work experience in your major? If so, you should attend our Practical Training seminar to get all the information you need to prepare your application for Optional Practical Training (OPT). The timing of your application is critical, so please attend the workshop soon and plan ahead.
New Students: Are you interested in finding out how to maximize your academic experience in the U.S. and practice what you study in a real-world job situation? Did you know that off-campus work opportunities for F-1 students are limited to jobs that relate to your field of study only? This is your chance to get all the information about employment and practical training options available for F-1 international students: Curricular Practical Training, Cooperative Work Experience, internships and OPT.
Experienced and Knowledgable Instruction
The workshops are led by our experienced immigration advisor and present a comprehensive overview of the types of practical training, eligibility requirements and the application process. Our advisor monitors the latest changes in the immigration policy so the workshops are an excellent resource for the most recent and relevant information affecting F-1 students’ application for CPT and OPT. The advisor will give you helpful tips on how to properly complete your immigration and application forms in order to be approved and realize your practical training plans.
All F-1 students planning to apply for any type of practical training are required to attend a practical training workshop before meeting with an advisor.
