  • Earn a learning stipend and college credit in your major for your internship.
  • Work on assignments that complement your course work and challenge your initiative and creativity.
  • Increase your confidence and competence through hands-on experience in a chosen major or field of interest.
  • Expand your knowledge of career options and network with professionals in your field.

How to Qualify:

  • Earn a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

  • Work 20 hours per week during the school year and 40 hours per week during the Summer. (No evening or weekend work is available.)
  • Enrollment at a local community college prior to applying is advised. If accepted, maintain a minimum of 9 units at a local community college during the school terms (4 Experiential Internship units and at least 5 other units), and register for a 6 unit Experiential Internship course during the summer term.
  • Meet specific internship requirements that ask for additional qualifications, specific courses, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency.

How to Apply:

  • Submit or upload a personal statement, unofficial transcripts for all courses taken during the past two years, resume, and two (2) faculty references from courses taken in your major. Faculty referral forms will be submitted directly to the Internship Program Office.
  • Download paper application and e-mail, fax or mail the completed application by deadline date.
  • Qualified candidates will be invited for interviews with prospective mentors/supervisors

An internship is considered part of a student's total educational experience. It is not intended to be a primary source of income for students nor an apprenticeship or hiring program for any of our internship sponsors.

Racial/ethnic minorities, women, physically handicapped persons and veterans are all encouraged to apply for available internships.
