Classes for Students From Other Schools
- Transferring to Foothill From Another College
- Taking One or More Classes at Foothill
Taking a Regular or Online Class at Foothill
If you are an F-1 student from another school and you wish to take classes (regular or online) at Foothill College part-time or over the summer, please follow the steps listed below.
(Note: De Anza College students who want to take a class at Foothill should first go to the International Students Office at De Anza to get a letter which they bring to Foothill’s International Students Office in Room 5922 or fax to the International Student Office at Foothill at 650-949-7080).
- Make a photocopy of your visa and page 1 of your current I-20.
- Go to the Application for Admission section of the Foothill website and click on Foothill - Application for Admission on the top left-hand side. When a new window opens up, choose Are you a New, Returning or High School Student.
You will be asked for a student identification (I.D.) number and a PIN number. At this time, student ID is your social security number. If you don’t have a social security number, contact the Admissions and Records office at (650) 949-7325 (press "8" to speak to a representative) to have a student ID number issued. Using that number and a PIN number that you create, fill out the application form and press submit.
You must print and sign the signature page to send to Foothill College. Remember the Student ID and the PIN that you use, as they will be required for future registration and other requests.
- Mail or fax the following documents to the International Student Office at Foothill College: 1) signature page; 2) a copy of your visa; 3) a copy of page 1 of your current I-20. A letter from the school is not necessary (unless you are a student at De Anza College). You do not have to send any other supplemental documents.
