As Director of Marketing and Communications for Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, Kurt Hueg is responsible for managing college marketing, publicity, governmental relations, graphic design/publications and Web site for a comprehensive community college with an average quarterly enrollment of 17,000 students- located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley. Foothill and its sister college, De Anza in Cupertino, make up the 105-square mile Foothill-De Anza Community College District.

Under his leadership, Foothill has earned 50 regional and national awards for marketing and publications excellence. Prior to joining Foothill College in 1995, Hueg served for four years as public information officer at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.

Before joining the community college public relations ranks, he served for two years as a senior staff writer and education reporter for the South Orange County News, a group of community newspapers operated in conjunction with the Orange County Register. Hueg holds a bachelor's degree from UCLA and transferred from Saddleback College where he studied journalism. Hueg served on both the UCLA Daily Bruin as an entertainment editor and writer and as editor of Saddleback College's student newspaper, The Lariat.

Hueg is a frequent presenter on such topics such as marketing, media relations and Web site development at numerous conferences, including the League for Innovation's Conference on Information Technology, ACCCA, The Community College League, California Community College Trustees, Community College League's Conference on Legislation, CCPRO and NCMPR.
