Canvas Migration Timetable

Foothill has been in the process of transitioning from Etudes to Canvas since 2015. The last quarter to use Etudes is Spring 2017 which means that starting in Summer 2017 all courses using a CMS will be offered in Canvas.

July 1, 2017 Deadline

Another looming deadline to be aware of is July 1, 2017 because a couple of things will happen on July 1st:

  • All courses that were live in 2015 will be archived
  • Access to ALL archived sites will no longer be available! They will be gone forever!
  • You will have 1 year to access:
    • Courses that were live in 2016 and 2017
    • Dev and Project sites

Action steps to take before July 1, 2017

There is still time to save the archived courses and those slated to be archived (2015) if you wish to migrate them into Canvas. To save your courses:

  • Request Etudes dev shells for each course
  • Import the contents of the archived site into the dev shell before July 1st (after July 1, archived courses will no longer be available)
