Video Arts - Production     2009-2010

PENDING STATE APPROVAL
The world loves the moving image. Little more than 100 years old, motion pictures are among our most popular and compelling art forms. Increasingly, video is where we turn for entertainment, information, education, and communication.
Video is a young medium that continues to evolve within its own dynamic language. Traditional storytelling coexists with emerging interactive narrative media. Television sitcoms have made way for video podcasts. Today, the Internet has created an international theater for the moving image where video can be downloaded and played on devices from the cell phone to high-definition television.
The Video Arts program is an ideal training ground for learning the concepts, critical analysis, and technology skills necessary for fluency in the video arts. Students in our program work in a variety of moving image forms including documentary, industrial, narrative, and experimental.
The A.A. degree focuses on the technical aspects of video and media creation. We offer a certificate of achievement, career, and skills certificates in digital editing, videography, audio for video, motion graphics, and animation. Many of our courses are offered online, allowing for schedule flexibility.
