Procedures for Fine Arts facility usage
In order to secure the usage of a Fine Arts space for extracurricular, college sponsored activities, please contact the Fine Arts Facilities Coordinator, x7252 or thorntonkay@foothill.edu, at least one month prior to the event. Please bear in mind that regularly scheduled classes have first priority for all spaces.
Spaces in the Fine Arts area available for usage include:
- Smithwick Theatre (building 1000), 941 fixed seating
- Appreciation Hall (building 1500), 168 fixed seating
- large classroom (1401), 75 moveable desk/chairs
- small classrooms (1405, 1219, 1220), 30 moveable desk/chairs each
Charges
There will be no charges for college sponsored events provided that;
- The event occurs on a weekday between the hours of 8am and 4pm
- There is no need for more than one technician to operate equipment during the event.
*The scheduling of technicians is at the discretion of the facilities coordinator.
If there is need for technicians, rates, at a four-hour minimum, are as follows;
- Theatre manager- $40/hour (required for all evening and weekend events)
- Sound Engineer (for mixing of live musicians) - $50/hour
- General technicians (light board, sound board, backstage, follow spot) - $25/hour
All technicians are used for set-up, running, and tear-down of events.
Equipment
Please email equipment requests to the facilities coordinator no later than two weeks prior to your event. For more complicated events, please return the form at least 3-4 weeks in advance.

__ Piano (tuning costs $145 and must be scheduled at least four weeks in advance)
The Smithwick Theater does not have a computer or internet connection.
Appreciation Hall
Appreciation Hall comes equipped with a projector, projection screen, VCR/DVD player, CD player, and podium.
There is no computer, but there is computer hook-up and an internet connection (no wireless).

Classrooms
Most classrooms are equipped with computer, internet connection, projector, CD player, and VCR/DVD player.
