SYNOPSIS The War of the Worlds:
A PERFECT HALLOWEEN TREAT! In this recreation of the initial broadcast, experience the panic caused by the 1938 assault on the airwaves describing a Martian invasion of Earth in progress. “I was home and my friend called and said, ‘Is your radio working? Tune to WABC the world is coming to an end.” These are the words of a radio listener on the night of October 30, 1938, when The War of the Worlds was broadcast. “It all sounded perfectly real . . . (later) I put my tongue in my cheek and figured it was just about the smartest play I’d ever heard.”
SYNOPSIS The Desert Quilt:
A Trading Post on the Navajo reservation in the harsh New Mexico Desert during the 1930s is the location of intertwining stories of Navajo, Latina, Anglo, and Chinese women who find that differences can be overcome by love. The Desert Quilt adds a holiday twist to a unique and diverse journey that captures the challenging atmosphere of a desert outpost while revealing a wide variety of cultures, characters, and stories.
