To meet our colleagues from other schools and introduce new Certifying Officials/Counselors with the purpose of sharing our best practices and educational support services to our Veteran students.

We would like to invite everyone including students to our newly “Fridays Wellness Group Session in SRC” led by virtual or real volunteers. Here are the details:

  • Who is invited? Everyone
  • What do I bring? yoga mat, friend, etc
  • What do I wear? Anything comfortable
  • What time? 12-1pm, or any part of this time even if it is for 10 minutes
  • What will we be doing or what should I expect? Yoga, meditation, quiet time, the room will be available for various activities etc.
  • Is there a fee? No, just your time.
  • How do I get started? Just show up on Fridays in Room 5425 anytime between 12noon-1pm and join us

What is Transition to Work Program?

The Transition to Work Program (TTW) is a 12-month vocational program designed for people with disabilities who can function independently on a college campus but may not have the ability to succeed in a traditional college classroom. All TTW classes are taught by Foothill College faculty.

TTW Garden Project - February 21, 2015

We will be doing our annual TTW planting, weeding and helping in the newly refurbished TTW garden on Saturday, Feb 21st. Here are the details:

  • What are we doing and why so soon? We hope to plant flowers, vegetables, etc. ready for the Spring time. This way the TTW team can offer lovely assorted flower arrangements soon too
  • Location: Foothill TTW Garden behind the KCI building
  • Time: 9am-1pm
  • What to wear? Comfortable, durable & layers in case it is cold
  • Who is invited? Family, friends, students, everyone!!!!!
  • Do I need equipment? We have extra gloves and equipment but we highly encouraged everyone to bring your own
  • How can I help? If gardening is not your thing but you would like to be involved you can bring food items, water, extra smiles, etc.

Veterans Resource Center at Foothill is committed to ensuring that veterans of all abilities experience a level playing field as they return to college.

A special memorial scholarship in honor of Capt. Matt Manoukian (USMC), has been established to provide financial assistance to benefit student-veterans who are pursuing college degrees while they successfully integrate into community life after their brave service to our country.

The Veterans Support Committee provides mentoring sessions, job exposure, guidance for Veterans benefits and legal affairs plus fund raising activities.

Raffle Ticket Drawing: Raffle proceeds provide textbooks vouchers for student veterans at Foothill College. Donation - $20 per ticket, 3 for $50, 6 for $100.
