Quick Start

This page is a quick start in the sense that it attempts to point students to the minimal resources that are required to access our UNIX systems.

Most (but not all) CTIS students have UNIX accounts created for them automatically at the start of each quarter. Many instructors require their students to interact or upload completed course work to our UNIX systems. It is the responsibility of the student to learn how to access their account and learn to use appropriate tools when interacting with our system... by following instructions contained within this help section.

The information below details the two categories of students using our systems and displays the required tasks required for each type of student work.

Later, if you experience any problems, check out the topics listed for Problems? FAQ which contains some information about our UNIX systems as well as answers to many frequently asked questions about our systems.

The links below contain more detailed information and step-by-step instructions.
