  2. List the three events of the civil rights movement that you think are the most crucial and justify your choices.

  3. In class I referred to Eisenhower as the "the last Whig." Give examples why you believe this might be true, if you agree, or not true, if you disagree.

  4. Compare Presidents Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson in actively changing civil rights in America.

  5. Discuss the "quiet 1950s" and the decade's impact on American life. Which elements have been long lasting, which were not, and why?
