Course information:
These are the CLASSIC first Anthropology Classes. Starting from here, the world is your oyster. At the very least you can use these courses to broaden your perspectives about the world and better prepare for the increasingly diverse and international job market.

Interests:
I am an archaeologist who studies in Ecuador, Belize, and California. Every summer we bring field classes to Ecuador in South America or Belize in Central America, check out the websites:

Hard Times in Ecuador

Anthropology is a great springboard for broadening your horizons. It positions you for the future, by giving you the tools to expand your learning and giving potential employers the satisfaction of knowing that you have been able to interpret and understand other perspectives and other cultures.

Biography:
This is my third year at Foothill and I am pleased to be here.

I come to the Bay Area from Hawaii where I was a Forensic Archaeologist specializing in the recovery and identification of Missing In Action U.S. serivcemembers from past wars. We mostly worked in Vietnam and Laos excavating plane crashes.

I recieved my degree from UCLA where I completed a dissertation on the Maya - how they lived, and how regular people were connected to the kings.

All of my studies were in Belize, until in 2000 when I began studying with my wife, Ana, in Ecuador. We are fortunate to be part of a special project that is ongoing every summer.

We look at Inka Fortresses, conducting excavations high in the Andes - on the edge of the Amazon at the equator. This summer we will be leading a group from Foothill - be sure to sign up for the class.

Every summer I have been traveling to Latin America, but I also have worked in California, and hope to continue this now that I am at Foothill.

This is an exciting time to be involved with Anthropology at Foothill. Please stop by and visit anytime -- my door is always open.
