Q: What is a Radiation Therapist?
A: A Radiation Therapist uses high tech equipment and sophisticated scientific techniques to deliver highly focused forms of radiation to treat cancer and other diseases. Radiation Therapy can cure malignant diseases and greatly improve quality of life. A Radiation Therapist is at the front line of this very important treatment.

Q: Can I get a job?
A: There is an overwhelming need for Radiation Therapists in our community and the nation. There are positions for full-time, part-time and per diem therapists with excellent hours (no nights, no weekends, no holidays) in every part of the country. New graduates earn starting salaries between $58,000 - $64,000 per year, often with sign on bonuses, and benefits of course!
Q: How do I apply to the program?
A: You can download the application from the website. Complete the application, attach transcripts, and submit it before May 1.
Q: How long will it take?
A: The Radiation Therapy program is full-time and follows the college schedule for 24 months starting in September. Students are required to train in their assigned clinical training sites 24 hours per week during Quarters 1,2,3 and 32 hours per week during Quarters 4,5,6,7,8. Classroom instruction is one full day per week throughout the program.
All graduates earn an Associate of Science degree and are eligible to take the ARRT Exam in Radiation Therapy. Scholarships are available.
Q: Are there any Prerequisites?
A: Yes -
- High School graduation or equivalency
- High School or College Biology, grade C or better.
- High School or College Chemistry, grade of C or better.
- Elementary Algebra or equivalent college level course or a passing score on the elementary algebra proficiency test. One of these must be current within three years.
- Eligiblity for ESL26 or English 1A.
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5
- AHS 200
- Compliance with technical standards
