Fall 2008 Season Review

On Saturday, Nov 8th the Foothill College Women’s Water Polo Team won the Coast Conference Tournament & Championship Title with a hard fought 9-8 victory over rival West Valley College. The game-winning goal was scored by Sophomore Jenna Roe with :02 left giving the Lady Owls its second Coast Conference Championship in a row and there fourth in the last 6 years. Freshman Elyssa Samson (Pioneer High School, San Jose, Ca) and sophomore Jenna Roe (Presentation High School, San Jose, Ca) were named to the All-Coast Conference Tournament Team.

This year’s team was lead by a group of five hard-working and dedicated sophomores: Center Jenna Roe, Defender Megan Dykema & Drivers Mor Keren-Gill, Megan Peterson & Hannah Duckworth-Lanzo. These 5 Sophomores helped lead the Lady Owls to a 34-19 overall & 17-1 conference record in there two years at Foothill.

Winter Water Polo 2009

Winter water polo will be January 6th, 2009. Please sign up for PHED 34H.01, Call # 0115. Class will meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-9:00pm. This class will be mostly skill development, conditioning and full court scrimmaging. It is open to high school seniors and women 18 & up.

Classes will be held at the Foothill College pool. If you’re interested in playing for the Lady Owls in the fall of 2009, come on out and meet the team and play some polo this winter.

Summer Water Polo Recap

Summer water polo classes got underway on June 30th, 2008. HP 8A, Intermediate/Advanced Water Polo & HP 35K, Pre-Season Conditioning for Women will be available.

These classes will be mostly skill development, conditioning and full court scrimmaging. It is open to high school seniors and women 18 & up. Classes will be held at the Foothill College pool. If you’re interested in playing for the Lady Owls in the fall of 2008, come on out and meet the team and play some polo this summer.
