Fall 2008 Preview
The Foothill College Lady Owl’s water polo team is gearing up for another competitive season in Northern California. After winning the Coast Conference last season for the third time in the last five years the Lady owls are looking to win back to back championships for the first time in school history.
Heading into his 8th year at Foothill College, Head Coach, Jeffrey Bissell, feels he has the necessary talent to make a run late into November. Five returning starters will help make the climb back to the top of the conference easier. Lead by All-American & All-Norcal center Jenna Roe (Presentation High School, San Jose, Ca) and All-Conference defender Megan Dykema (Cupertino High School, Cupertino, Ca) last years battery returns for another strong showing. Returning utility players Megan Peterson (Pioneer High School, San Jose, Ca), Mor Keren-Gill (Lynbrook High School, San Jose, Ca) & All-Conference sharp shooter Hannah Duckworth-Lanzo (Leland High School, San Jose, Ca) bring experience and add depth to this years squad.
Key recruits Chrisy Campbell (Palo Alto High School, Palo Alto, Ca) Tatiana Sheikhrezai (Menlo-Atherton
High School) and Elyssa Samson (Pioneer High School, San Jose, Ca) will be weighted on heavily to carry the offensive needs of the team early in the season. Other new comers who will figure to make immediate impacts include goalie Lauren Pye (Los Altos High School, Los Altos, Ca), centers Julia Sterling (Fremont High School, Sunnyvale, Ca) & Katie Delfs (Notre Dame Belmont, Belmont, Ca) and defender Kendall Buhk (Homestead High School, Cupertino, Ca).
