Foothill Undefeated in League Play
With a 58-53 victory over Mission College on Friday night, Foothill repeats as Back to Back Undefeated League Champions. The Owls were lead by Angie Reid with 16, AJ Leasau with 14 and Shania Ratliff with 12 points each. Angie also had 11 rebounds. The Owls finished League play with a perfect 12-0 Conference record.
Foothill Players Recognized with All Conference Honors
Foothill College's Angie Reid was named the South Coast Conference MVP for the second year in a row. Angie averaged 16.4 points and 8 rebounds per game this past season in league. Sophomore Captain Breanna Salary was also named First Team All-Conference along with Sophomore Guard Lauren Lete and Freshman guard AJ Leasau. Sophomore Guard Shania Ratliff and Freshman Forward Tyiteyana Jefferson were named Second Team All League.
Coach Jody Craig was named 2016 Coast Conference South - Coach of the Year.
Foothill Finishes with the #1 Defense in the State
For the second year in a row Foothill boasts the Top Defense in the State holding their opponents to just 47.3 points per game and 29.7% shooting over 29 games played.
Angie Reid Named First Team All State
Sophomore Post Player Angie Reid was recognized as one of the Top 6 players on Nor Cal and Top 12 in the State by being voted First Team All State. This is Angie's second All State Award. She was named Second Team All State in her freshman campaign.
Foothill In the State Regional Playoffs for the 19th time/ 20 Years
#7 Foothill (23-5) will open up at home against Delta College on Friday, Feb. 26. Tip off 7 p.m
Foothill wrapped up a perfect undefeated league season (10-0) with a win over Mission College on Friday, Feb 20. The Owls beat Mission by a final score of 81-67. Foothill finished with an overall 20-7 season record.
Freshman Angie Reid was named Coast Conference South MVP and Second Team All State.
Sophmores Rose Tahaafe and Leslie Tiongco were named First Team All- League. Kristin Williams, Shania Ratliff and Cristina Yamashiro earned Scholar Athlete Honors.
Throughout 26 games, Foothill held opponents to just 41.1 points per game and 27.6% shooting, with a defensive finish as first in the state out of 89 teams. Ventura was next, holding the opposing team to 47 ppg.
